  10.  AB    The literature concerning measurement of nurses' attitudes toward AIDS
  11.        was reviewed. A short scale to measure nurses' attitudes toward AIDS was
  12.        developed and evaluated. The instrument has three subscales on (a)
  13.        willingness to care for those who are HIV positive, homosexuals, and
  14.        intravenous drug users as patients, (b) attitudes toward homosexuals and
  15.        intravenous drug users, and (c) general conservative views on religious,
  16.        political, and family issues. The three subscales were supported by
  17.        results of a factor analysis. Coefficient alpha ranged from .69 to .92.
